The Chicago Police Department is dialing up its efforts to curb impaired driving with a DUI Saturation Patrol in the Near North’s 18th District this coming weekend. According to the department’s announcement, the operation will kick off on Friday at 6 p.m. and will run through 2 a.m. the following Saturday.
The patrol has a clear objective: to flood a set area with vigilant officers on the lookout for signs of impaired driving. Police will not only be scanning for potential DUI offenders, but will also be enforcing laws pertaining to speeding, alcohol-related infractions, and seat belt usage.
