15 years for robbing a 7-Eleven while on parole for robbery

CHICAGO — One of two men charged with committing armed robberies on the city’s North Side last year has been smacked with a 15-year prison sentence.

Myles Martez, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery before Judge Charles Burns. Martez was on parole for two 2017 armed robberies in the suburbs, for which he received a 13-year sentence, at the time of his latest crimes.

Prosecutors said Martez and David Hall, who continues to fight robbery charges, were “armed with an Uzi” when they took money and Newport cigarettes from 7-Eleven, 1404 West Pratt, on May 6, 2024…
