LINCOLN PARK — A string of late-night break-ins targeted small businesses across the North Side early Wednesday, marking the latest in a growing pattern of commercial burglaries in neighborhoods like Lakeview, Lincoln Park and Old Town.
According to a community alert issued by Chicago Police, an unknown man smashed glass doors and windows at six businesses between 1:30-5:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Once inside, the man stole cash from registers before fleeing, according to police.
The burglaries occurred in the 2200 block of North Clark Street in Lincoln Park, where two businesses were hit just minutes apart. Two more restaurants were struck in the 2900 block of North Broadway in Lakeview…
