CHICAGO — The driver of a stalled vehicle was killed when their car was rear-ended by a semi-truck on the northbound Dan Ryan Expressway at 59th Street late Friday night, according to Illinois State Police.

ISP says troopers responded to the location around 11:30 p.m., a preliminary investigation indicating a Nissan sedan was stalled in the second left inside lane when a semi-truck that was unable to stop crashed into its rear end.
Witnesses in the area told WGN News that firefighters had to extricate a woman and a young child from their car. Lisa Queen, who was at a gas station nearby, said she ran over and saw firefighters remove a woman from the wreckage and perform CPR.
“I saw them pull a baby from the vehicle, as well,” Queen said. “I have never seen a crash this bad before.”…
