Rideshare Driver Carjacked at Gunpoint in Chicago’s New City Neighborhood

In a striking incident early Sunday morning, a rideshare driver fell victim to a carjacking in the New City neighborhood of Chicago. The Chicago Police Department reported that the 47-year-old driver was engaged in duty providing a rideshare service when an armed male passenger commandeered his vehicle. According to the information released, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. when the passenger brandished a firearm and demanded that the driver exit the vehicle.
