A suburban man and two unknown accomplices formed a burglary crew that specifically targeted high-end homes in Chicago so they could get the most valuable jewelry, cash, and other proceeds available, officials say. The group allegedly burglarized more than a dozen homes from the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park to Bucktown and West Town during a months-long crime wave, getting away with property worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
But when Chicago cops recently arrested one of the men to face charges, he allegedly told them he did it to support his relatives.
