Man, 19, charged for kidnapping 1-month-old girl, battering both baby and mother: CPD

CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking a woman and kidnapping a 1-month-old girl on the city’s North Side.

Nickolas Watts, of Chicago, was arrested Friday in the 1000 block of West Glenlake Avenue after being identified as the offender who, approximately 20 minutes earlier, battered an 18-year-old woman, then kidnapped and battered a 1-month-old girl in the 1900 block of West Granville Avenue, police said.

Watts has been charged with:

  • One (1) felony count – Aggravated Kidnapping/<13 Intel Disabl
  • One (1) felony count – Aggravated Kidnapping – Inflict Harm
  • One (1) felony count – Aggravated Battery/Child<13/Great Bodily Harm
  • One (1) felony count – Domestic Battery – Aggravated
  • One (1) felony count – Child Abduction/Father Conceals
  • One (1) misdemeanor count – Domestic Battery/Bodily Harm
  • One (1) misdemeanor count – Violate Order of Protection

He is due in court on Monday.
