2 felons, both on pretrial release, carjacked woman and robbed man minutes apart: prosecutors

Two alumni of CWBChicago stories teamed up to carjack a woman and then rob a man last Friday afternoon, officials say. Alphanso Talley, a 25 with three other criminal cases pending, and Donvon McClary, 21, are now jailed pending trial.

Talley’s CWB debut came after he robbed two men near Boystown and three others on a River North subway platform in 2017—antics that earned him a 7-year prison sentence. McClary was featured in a CWB story after two CTA passengers identified him as the guy who mugged them on a Red Line train near Lake Street in 2022. He ultimately received a 2-year sentence.
