Carjacker busted by federal chopper crew and 2 AirTags gets 15 year prison sentence

A man has been slapped with a 15-year prison sentence for carjacking a Lincoln Park resident in October 2023. Noah Sidney, 20, picked a bad night to do it: A federal law enforcement helicopter was in the air, working with Chicago cops and state troopers on an anti-carjacking mission.

The carjacking occurred shortly before 7 p.m. as a 31-year-old man unloaded groceries from his Audi Q3 in the 2200 block of North Seminary. Police said Sidney walked up to the victim, displayed a pistol, and forced him to turn over his keys, wallet, and phone. The victim complied, and Sidney drove away with his car.
