Teen Charged with Armed Vehicular Hijacking in July 2024 Incidents

An 18-year-old male has been charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm related to incidents that happened back in July 2024. According to the Chicago Police Department’s report, the young man, who was a minor at the time of the crimes, is facing juvenile charges.

Arrested on Wednesday by the city’s Vehicular Hijacking Task Force, which occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. in the 3600 block of W. 56th St. The suspect was later connected to the vehicular hijackings that took place on the same day, spaced barely two hours apart. The first incident, involving a 52-year-old male victim, unfolded around 1:30 p.m. on S. Kolin Ave., while the second occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m., targeting a 61-year-old man on 55th St., both in the jurisdiction of the 8th District…
