Illinois State Police sqaud struck by Dodge Charger on I-290, driver charged with DUI

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Police arrested the driver of a Dodge Charger on drunk driving after he reportedly slammed into an Illinois State Police squad car on Interstate 290 on Tuesday.

According to state police, a trooper was conducting a traffic crash investigation on the shoulder of I-290 near Lavergne Avenue around 7:42 p.m.

While the trooper was outside the vehicle, the Charger, driven by Cordell Franklin, 40, of Chicago, crashed into the vehicle, pushing it into the rear of the vehicle from the previous crash, police said…
