Armed man shot by Chicago cop was wanted in 4 counties: court records

The man shot by Chicago police officers over the weekend was wanted by authorities in four different Illinois counties, court records show. Kewion Kingcaid, 21, of Carol Stream, remained hospitalized for injuries he received after, according to CPD, he turned toward officers with a firearm.

The police went to the 1900 block of North Austin around 10:30 p.m. Saturday after a woman called 911 and reported that people had guns at a party she was attending, according to a Chicago police report.

Cops saw an “illegal party” underway at a home and the crowd was ordered to disperse, the report said. Everyone complied, but officers noticed that Kingcaid was walking in a different direction from the other partygoers while holding an object in front of himself, according to the report…
