Emergency At Illinois School After Several Students Take Cannabis Edibles

I remember back in school, food trading was a way of life during lunch. I was always trying to work out deals with my classmates. My goal was to unload the things I didn’t like and end up with much better options.

That’s something you can’t do in school anymore. You eat your own meal or food and nothing else. There’s no sharing or trading with classmates, otherwise, you can get into serious trouble. The main reason is to protect students with food allergies.

There is a completely new and unrelated reason nowadays. Going to school in Illinois is supposed to be a safe zone for children. Well, it used to be. Now, kids are getting into their parents’ stash and bringing cannabis edibles to the lunchroom.

At Fort Dearborn Elementary School in Chicago, first responders were called to help over 20 students who ate candy infused with cannabis. A handful had to be transported to a local hospital to be treated for the effects of marijuana…
