Residents of Englewood are on high alert after a series of armed robberies have thrust the community into a state of unease. The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert for these incidents, warning of the violent trend that has emerged within the 7th District. The most recent of these has been reported occurring on the 6800 block of S. Throop St. on Tuesday, at 9:23 p.m.
In these harrowing incidents, victims are confronted by two individuals brandishing firearms, demanding their cars and possessions. According to the alert from the Chicago Police Department, the offenders, described as African-American males wearing black ski masks and hooded sweatshirts, employed a black Chrysler Town and Country as a getaway car to swiftly make their getaway.
