Man accused of firing shots through sidewalk grate at CTA Red Line station in Loop to make court appearance

CHICAGO (WGN) — A Chicago man accused of firing shots at pedestrians while hiding under a sidewalk grate in the Loop is set to make a court appearance on Wednesday.

Chicago police say 34-year-old Rayvon Savary, an Auburn Gresham resident, has been charged with one felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon.

The charges were handed down following a shooting that allegedly unfolded around 8 a.m. at the Monroe CTA Red Line station on Monday morning.
