At ‘We Walk For Her’ March, Locals Call For New City Office Dedicated To Missing Black Women And Girls

BRONZEVILLE — Chicago youth and community leaders took to the streets of Bronzeville Friday, drawing attention to the disproportionate number of missing and murdered Black and Brown women and girls in the city.

Around 200 people marched down King Drive Friday evening for the “We Walk For Her” march, waving colorful banners and chanting, “We walk for who? We walk for her!”

This was the eighth annual protest march started by Girls Who Lead, a youth-led project of the Kenwood-Oakland Community Organization.
