A Chicago police officer, intending to shoot a man pointing a gun at him on Thursday, unintentionally shot and killed fellow officer Krystal Rivera as she chased a second suspect down a nearby hallway, prosecutors said Sunday.
The revelation, along with other details about what officials believe happened inside that Chatham apartment on Thursday night, were made public as prosecutors charged 25-year-old Adrian Rucker with illegally possessing the firearm he allegedly pointed at the police as they entered the unit.
