A new just-completed operation by the United States Marshals was focused on Iowa, but by the time is was over, many of the 50 suspects they took down were located across Illinois.
According to a press release just shared today by the US Marshals, they just finished what they called “Operation River Run”. Marshals in both Iowa and Illinois teamed up with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Bettendorf Police Department, and Iowa Department of Corrections to conduct a 5-week long fugitive operation that began on May 19 and just concluded on June 20,2025. The goal was to locate and arrest as many suspects as possible that had local, state and federal arrest warrants. They captured 52 suspects many of which were found as far into Illinois as Chicago.
