CHICAGO (WGN) — A Chicago park on the far South Side got some T.L.C. Sunday thanks to a thoughtful elementary school student with a heart for the environment.
Incoming fifth grader Zach Favors’ idea of a fun day in the park looks a little different than most young people his age.
“I’m hoping that we can pick up as much trash as we can and it will make this park and the environment better,” Favors said as he and other volunteers cleaned up Crescent Park on 108th Place in the city’s Morgan Park neighborhood. “I found a bunch of stuff—firework debris, soda cans.
