Six Flags bans unaccompanied minors from Chicagoland parks starting July 17

GURNEE, Ill. (WTVO) — After a shooting in the parking lot of Great America last week, Six Flags announced Monday it will be barring unaccompanied minors from its Chicagoland parks.

Beginning July 17th, 2025, individuals 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 21 years old to enter either Six Flags Great America or Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Chicago.

The company said the policy will be in effect all day from July 17-20, and beginning at 5 p.m. on all days thereafter…
