Man used teen app to lure underage girls across Chicagoland: prosecutors

A 27-year-old Homewood man is facing charges for allegedly using a teen-focused social app to meet and sexually abuse underage girls across Chicagoland, according to police reports and court filings.

According to Chicago police, officers were called to the Logan Square home of a woman who reported her 15-year-old daughter missing for the first time on February 5, 2024. While police were taking the report, they heard a vehicle door slam outside and saw the teen and Porras walking toward the residence, a CPD report said. Officers said Porras gave multiple false birth years before admitting he was 25 years old.

The girl told officers she had met Porras on Wizz, a social media app marketed to teenagers, and had been talking for several weeks before meeting in person two days earlier…
