Norwich police charge Chicago man with enticing minor online, officials say

NORWICH — A 20-year-old Chicago man is facing a series of felonies after he was extradited to Connecticut this week as part of an investigation into his online communications with an underage girl, police said.

Edwin Garcia was arraigned Thursday on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material, enticing a minor by computer to engage in sexual activity and risk of injury to a minor, according to Sgt. Ken Wright of the Norwich Police Department.

Wright said Garcia was taken into custody a day earlier at the Cook County Jail in Chicago pursuant to an active arrest warrant issued by the Norwich police following “a lengthy investigation.”…
