A 16-year-old Dolton boy is facing murder and armed robbery charges for allegedly murdering an Uber driver during a carjacking attempt on the South Side last week.
Demari Taylor allegedly shot 35-year-old Altmann Mnyuku in the back of the head around 2:00 a.m. on July 31 in the 600 block of East 90th Street. Prosecutors say Taylor pulled Mnyuku’s body out of the car, left him lying in the middle of 90th Street, and tried to drive away with the slain man’s Jeep Cherokee. He fled when he couldn’t get the vehicle to operate.
