Person responsible for throwing a West Side party that turned deadly allegedly works for Chicago Public Schools

The large block party where six people were shot in the Austin neighborhood was hosted by party promoter and popular TikToker “JRoy,” whose real name is Jamal Williams. Williams acknowledged on social media that he’d heard of threats of violence connected to the party, and reportedly had been warned by Chicago Police, but decided to throw it anyway. His social media account also indicates he’s employed by Chicago Public Schools. To this point, he has NOT been cited for throwing the party. Investigators are trying to determine if two other shootings nearby are also linked.
