Chicago blind man’s support dog missing more than 2 months sparks nationwide help to find Bam Bam

People from across the country are rallying to help a 58-year-old blind Chicago man find his 14-year-old missing emotional support dog. Last week marked two months since Angel Santiago was last with his dachshund Bam Bam who had been stolen by two men from the man’s own backyard.

On June 5, two men walked into Santiago’s backyard near Monticello and Fullerton Avenues while Bam Bam had been outside on a bathroom break. Santiago, who has been legally blind since birth because of glaucoma and Type 2 diabetes, heard the disturbance and tried to intervene…
