2 beat, kicked, stomped, robbed victim on Red Line train in the Loop: prosecutors

Two men, including one who was paroled last month, are facing felony robbery charges after prosecutors said they joined a group that viciously beat and robbed a 42-year-old man on a Red Line train in the Loop this week.

According to a detention petition, the victim, who lives in Rogers Park, had just boarded the train around 7 a.m. Wednesday, when four or five men and a woman surrounded him, demanding he give up his seat. Prosecutors said the group shouted at him, poked him, and ordered him to stand as the train approached the State-Lake station.

When the man complied, video footage showed, the group began beating and kicking him, according to the petition. During the assault, 27-year-old Demetri Saunders, of Dolton, allegedly took the victim’s phone from his hand and his wallet from his pocket. Another member of the group made off with the victim’s backpack.

Prosecutors said 24-year-old Jacobi Dickerson, of Harvard, was captured on camera repeatedly punching the victim in the face and body before stomping on him…
