Chicago Man Charged with Felony Aggravated Battery After July Shooting Incident

Chicago Police Department officials have reported the arrest and charging of Dashawn Carldwell, a 25-year-old resident of the 1300 block of N. Lockwood in Chicago, with one felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm. According to the official CPD release, Carldwell was apprehended last Wednesday near 6100 W. North Ave. in Oak Park, Illinois, following an incident that had occurred a month prior.

The charges stem from a July 6th altercation where the accused is alleged to have shot and injured another 25-year-old male. The shooting took place in the 0-100 block of N. Lorel within the 15th District of Chicago. Carldwell’s capture was the result of investigative efforts that ultimately led to his identification as the suspected perpetrator in this violent event.
