Man shot while walking in Edgewater

A 49-year-old man was wounded Saturday night in Edgewater after someone fired shots, shattering glass at a bus stop and scattering shell casings across the street.

The shooting occurred around 9:14 p.m. in the 5300 block of North Sheridan Road, according to Chicago police. Witnesses told officers they saw a group of males running west from the park toward Sheridan just before hearing gunfire. A bullet struck the shoulder of a 49-year-old man who was walking in the area. He told police he heard males arguing before the shooting.
