Foxx unveils a vision for ‘non-punitive justice,’ as a man continues to faces felony charges for tossing a Big Gulp on her

Former Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx updated her LinkedIn profile this week, laying out themes for her next chapter as a “collaborative trailblazer.” Among her stated goals is a desire to “build systems of accountability that are not punitive, but transformational.”

Curiously, Foxx posted about that vision for a non-punitive system on Monday, just hours before a man was set to go to trial on felony charges for allegedly tossing a root beer Big Gulp on her.

The bench trial for William Swetz was ultimately continued to October 21, according to court records…
