A man with a long criminal record who is on parole for attacking a police officer is accused of robbing three senior citizens at a CTA station and then groping a woman outside a West Side school Thursday morning, according to prosecutors and police.
Chicago police were called to Chicago West Side Christian School, 1240 South Pulaski Road, around 8:15 a.m. after a woman reported that 39-year-old Marquis Bailey groped her buttocks as she left the school. A school administrator told Bailey to leave multiple times, but he refused, according to a CPD report. Officers arrested him outside the building.
When they searched him, officers found a purse and an ID belonging to one of three women who were robbed at the California Pink Line station about an hour earlier.
In that case, three women, two in their 70s and another listed as being over 60, said Bailey targeted them as they set up a religious magazine display at the station. Bailey allegedly snatched magazines from the rack, became aggressive, and stole the stand itself, which contained the 77-year-old woman’s wallet and another woman’s phone.
