Thirty people were shot in Chicago this weekend, including a 5-year-old boy who died after being shot inside a North Kenwood apartment, according to preliminary information from Chicago police reports.
While cautioning that details surrounding several incidents remain “fluid,” the curators of crime data website HeyJackass say the performance currently stands as the second-best outcome for the same weekend since 2015. The only year with fewer victims was 2023, when 24 people were wounded and three were killed.
