Chicago Police Department Issues Alert After Armed Robbery Spree in South Chicago Neighborhoods

The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert following a series of armed robberies across the South Chicago, South Shore, and Vet’s Park neighborhoods within the 003rd (Grand Crossing) and 004th (South Chicago) Districts. According to the official statement, the incidents involve two to four male suspects wearing all black or dark-colored clothing and ski masks, who have been approaching victims with handguns and demanding their belongings.

The recent crime spree includes robbers who, after striking, were driving a stolen blue Honda Accord, making off with victims’ possessions. All of the robberies took place on August 19, 2025, between the times of 9:15 AM and 10:00 AM. The locations of these crimes were the 9700 block of South Marquette Ave, the 8200 block of South Kingston Ave, and the 2500 block of East 72nd Pl, respectively…
