2 teens hospitalized after mob attack in Beverly park; charges expected

A large group of attackers beat two 15-year-old boys inside Munroe Park in Beverly earlier this month, leaving both victims hospitalized, according to Chicago police. The filing of charges is imminent, a source familiar with the incident told CWBChicago.

The attack happened around 10:40 p.m. on August 16, with a large group attacking the teens with fists, a baseball bat, and a paintball gun, according to a CPD spokesperson. Multiple people recorded the assault on their phones, and CWBChicago has obtained some of that footage.

One video reviewed by CWBChicago begins with one of the victims cowering on the ground as several attackers, who also appear to be in their teens, kick and punch him repeatedly. He tries to get up and run, but is dragged down in the middle of the baseball field…
