4 juveniles face felony charges in violent park attack that injured 2 teens

Four juveniles have been charged in connection with a brutal group attack inside Munroe Park that left two 15-year-old boys hospitalized earlier this month, according to Chicago police. Part of the attack was caught on video.

The charges follow the August 16 assault, when, according to CPD, a large group of teens battered the victims with fists, a baseball bat, and a paintball gun around 10:40 p.m.

A video showing part of the attack begins with one victim cowering on the ground as several assailants kick and punch him. He gets up and runs a short distance, but is dragged back down in the middle of the park’s baseball field. The beating intensifies as one attacker fires a paintball gun at close range, another leaps and lands feet-first near the boy’s knees, and a third appears to spray something into his face. Remarkably, the boy eventually springs to his feet and jogs away as the recording ends…
