Chicago man receives conditional discharge in plea deal for Rockford shooting

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — One of three Chicago men thought to be involved in a Rockford shooting has pleaded guilty in exchange for a deferred jail sentence.

Rockford Police SCOPE officers pulled over a vehicle near Horace Avenue and Elm Street around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, July 20th, that police believed had been involved in a reckless discharge of a firearm earlier in the night in the 1800 block of West State Street.

According to officers, a loaded handgun with a laser/light attachment and a second loaded handgun with an extended magazine were found. Both weapons were reported stolen out of Louisville, Kentucky…
