A 31-year-old Chicago mother was fatally shot during a physical altercation after she dropped off her son at school.
An unidentified woman known to Meeks-Blackmon is said to have shot her in the face after they got into the physical altercation. Police said Meeks-Blackmon succumbed to her injuries after she was taken to a hospital.
A suspect linked to the shooting was initially taken into custody before being released, CBS News Chicago reported. Authorities have yet to file charges in connection with the shooting, but the case was described as domestic in nature.
