Man murdered girlfriend while on pretrial release for a felony case, prosecutors say

A 22-year-old South Side man with a history of gun convictions is now charged with murdering his girlfriend in front of multiple witnesses while on felony pretrial release.

Xavier Tousant is the 14th person accused of killing or trying to kill someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for another felony.
