Gov. Pritzker condemns surge of armed federal agents in downtown Chicago on Sunday

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Federal agents outfitted in full military gear flooded downtown Chicago on Sunday, prompting a rebuke from Gov. JB Pritzker.

Dozens of agents in full tactical gear were seen patrolling some of Chicago’s busiest tourism and shopping areas, part of a surge of immigration enforcement that began earlier this month.

President Donald Trump said the troops were part of a move that also included sending 200 National Guard to “protect War ravaged Portland,” in Oregon, and deploying to Memphis, Tennessee.

Trump has spoken about sending the National Guard to Chicago, but has not yet done so…
