Cops recover pot, guns after 2 men are shot in the South Loop

Two men were critically wounded in a shooting in the South Loop late Friday, Chicago police said.

Officers on patrol reported hearing gunfire around 10:41 p.m. and soon found the victims in the 2400 block of South Federal Street. Police said the victims, ages 23 and 20, had been traveling together in a vehicle when an unidentified gunman began shooting. CPD did not say if the gunman was inside or outside of the vehicle.

The 20-year-old victim was struck twice in the abdomen and once in the arm, while the older man was shot in both legs and the thigh, according to CPD. Both men were taken to hospitals in critical condition…
