Whitley Temple will continue to be named Whitley Temple for at least four more years. On Monday, a Cook County judge denied her request to change her name, citing a lack of candor and ongoing court supervision in connection with a case in which Temple was found not guilty by reason of insanity of trying to kill a Chicago police officer.
Judge Mary Trew denied the 37-year-old’s request to change her name to Kendall after initially seeking to be renamed Michelle.
Temple told the court she wanted a name change because she has struggled to maintain employment in the wake of the attempted murder case and claimed she has been “harassed” by people who are “constantly writing stories about me.”…
