Duo stole gold chains at gunpoint in West Town deli holdup: prosecutors

Two men are accused of robbing two customers at gunpoint inside a West Town deli, taking their gold chains during a brazen daytime stickup that is unrelated to a recent wave of chain-snatching robberies in the downtown area.

Prosecutors said 25-year-old Elys Calzadilla Perez and 21-year-old Yan Semana Gonsalez entered a deli in the 800 block of North Western Avenue around 5:30 p.m. on September 27 while two men were standing in line.

According to a detention petition, Perez pulled out a small revolver, pointed it at a 38-year-old man, and removed a gold chain from his neck. He then allegedly took another chain from the second victim, 31, and struck him, knocking him to the floor…
