A grim discovery was made in a Bridgeport apartment when a man returned home from work to find his roommate dead, wrapped, and tied up, as reported by The Chicago Tribune. The victim, who was found face down in the kitchen of the three-bedroom residence located on the 1000 block of West 31st Street, appeared to be in his 30s.
While the cause of death remains undetermined, the setting in which the victim was found — with arms and legs bound with rope and wire, and a head wrapped in a blanket — hints at a violent end. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a makeshift gag was also found in the victim’s mouth. In a further grim detail, an electronic monitor was strapped to his ankle, the purpose of which is yet to be unraveled.
The police were alerted to the situation at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday by the roommate who discovered the body. Although the victim’s identity has not been disclosed, it is known that he shared the apartment with the man who found him, as well as with two brothers, each occupying separate bedrooms.
