I’ve heard it many times in my life from coaches, managers, and co-workers. That is K.I.S.S., which stands for keep it simple, stupid. It’s actually an easy way of thinking because I think many times we make work tasks way more difficult than they have to be.
I think that goes for crime, too. Criminals, especially thieves, make jobs much more complicated than they have to. I’m guessing that is a good reason why many of them get busted for their crimes. If they keep it simple, they might have a better success rate.
Recently, a group of thieves in the Chicago neighborhood of Bucktown did just that. The burglars kept their plan simple. They busted into a local smoke shop with hammers. Then, the suspects cracked open the display cases with hammers. Nice and easy. Guess what? They haven’t been caught yet.
