A Chicago man, Asdrubala Brito Marcano, 27, has been ordered held in custody before trial. He is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase with a four-year-old child in the car. The decision was announced by DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Police Chief Brian Strockis after a court hearing before Judge Joshua Dieden.
The incident happened on November 12, 2025, at about 6:00 p.m. An Oak Brook police officer saw a Chevy Impala with suspended license plates parked in a handicapped spot at the Nordstrom parking lot in Oakbrook Center. When the officer tried to stop the car, Brito Marcano allegedly drove away. Police pursued the vehicle on several highways, including I-290, I-55, and I-90/94. Speeds reportedly exceeded 65 miles per hour.
During the pursuit, Brito Marcano is accused of driving on the shoulder, weaving through traffic, running a red light, and jumping a curb. The child remained in the back seat during the chase.
