CHICAGO (WGN) — Targeted by cold-hearted burglars, the overnight break-in of a beloved ice cream shop on the city’s South Side has brought the community together in a warm show of support.
At 47th and Wabash in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, you’ll find Shawn Michelle’s Homemade Ice Cream, a shop that had customers flowing in Thursday despite 40-degree weather.
Owners Yahya and Nataki Muhammad said the ice cream eatery features homemade custard and ice cream, along with a side of nostalgia, with flavors you could only get at your grandma’s house. From ice cream to pies, there’s something to satisfy any sweet tooth.
