Chicago Teachers Union facing federal probe over allegations of missing audits

CHICAGO/WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Chicago Teachers Union is facing a federal probe over allegations of missing audits.

The U.S. House Committee on Education and Workforce sent a letter to CTU President Stacy Davis Gates on Thursday accusing the union of failing to provide members complete financial audits for the last five years.

The letter, which can be read in full HERE, was sent on behalf of the committee by its chairman, Tim Walberg (R-Mich.), and the chairman of the Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee, Rick W. Allen (R-Ga.).
