A 14-year-old boy was shot twice Saturday night in Chicago’s Grand Boulevard neighborhood in what has become a grimly familiar scene on the South Side, police said. The teen was walking when he heard a loud noise and felt pain, and officers later found he had gunshot wounds to his leg. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the boy was struck twice in the right calf around 10:50 p.m. while walking in the 4700 block of South King Drive, near South Side Sanctuary Park. Detectives said the shooting remains under investigation and no one is in custody.
