CHICAGO (WGN) – A first responder escort led about 200 Navy recruits from Naval Station Great Lakes to East Leyden High School in Franklin Park where they were welcomed with gratitude and a Thanksgiving celebration.
“It’s a grind every day and to see people while on the bus waving, it warmed my heart,” Navy recruit Kamaree Palmer said.
Inside the school, the community embraced them with love and warmth, treating them to a full Thanksgiving experience with delicious food, fun games and music, creating heartfelt moments to make them feel right at home…
