Chicago faith leaders speak out against steep property tax hikes for South, West Side residents

CHICAGO (WGN) — Faith leaders on Chicago’s South and West Sides are sounding the alarm over what they call property tax increases that unfairly target Black homeowners.

After many residents received sharply higher bills, nearly a dozen church leaders gathered to condemn the Cook County property tax system, calling it immoral and unjust.
