Homeland Security Boss Kristi Noem Met By Protesters While Attending Navy Pier Christmas Charity Event

NAVY PIER — A years-long Chicago holiday tradition was marked by protests when Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem decided to join the event Saturday morning at Navy Pier.

Amid the freezing cold and icy snow, dozens of protestors gathered Saturday for the U.S. Coast Guard’s annual Christmas Tree Ship event, which sees the Coast Guard dock at Navy Pier and deliver over 1,000 pine trees to Chicago families in need.
